The apartments are available to those who have been full-time university employees for at least five years, with a preference given to retirees of the university.
The three-story, mid-century modern red brick building at 1400 Lilac Lane is tucked behind Danforth Chapel on the KU campus. Owned and operated by KU Endowment, it was built in 1960 after a bequest from Elizabeth Sprague, head of KU’s home economics department from 1914 to 1941.
One- and two-bedroom apartments are available. Monthly rent for a one-bedroom unit is $850; monthly rent for a two-bedroom unit is $900. Rent includes utilities except cable/internet. No pets allowed.
