KU Endowment employs students as part-time fundraisers to aid in our Student Fundraising Campaign via the telephone. Position Description

Position Title: Student Development Associate – part time (Annual Giving)

Reports to: Assistant Director of Annual Giving

Position Summary: KU Endowment employs students part time as fundraisers in our Student Fundraising Campaign. Student Fundraisers connect alumni with giving opportunities while doing great work for the Endowment Association.

All employees in this position are expected to embrace KU Endowment’s stated core values — passion for KU, partnership with donors, perpetual support for KU, and a people-centered approach — and demonstrate support for them through professional interactions and activities.

Primary Duties:
  • Call potential donors for gifts toward KU’s academic programs
  • Update and verify alumni demographics
  • Develop and share a case for giving, make asks for donations, and rebuild the case after objections.
  • Provide messaging points on behalf of the Schools and Departments you're calling for
Secondary Duties:
  • Generate interest in KU
  • Build a positive relationship with KU alumni
  • Communicate feedback from alumni
Mandatory training is required before work can begin.

Schedule includes at least three shifts (4 hours each) Sunday thru Thursday. Monday-Thursday shift hours: 5:00-9:00 pm. Sunday shift hours: 12:00-3:45 pm OR 4:00-7:30 pm. 

$10 per hour and bonus program, plus raise potential

Currently enrolled KU student
Ability to communicate effectively
Enthusiasm and positive attitude
Self-motivated
Assertive but not pushy
Ability to listen to alumni
Dependability
Interest in KU programs and activities
Some computer experience
