The traditional march down Campanile Hill ... the pregame run onto the field at Memorial Stadium ... performances at Band Day ... infectious support for the team on the field ... the Marching Jayhawks embody the spirit and pride of Jayhawk fans everywhere.
The KU marching band plays in front of far larger audiences than any other musical ensemble at the university. They look good, they sound good, and they work hard to maintain KU tradition.
More than three quarters of the band are not music majors -- membership includes students from virtually every department and school across the campus. Most members pay to play. In-state members currently pay annual out-of-pocket costs that can top $350; out-of-state members pay as much as $680.

Gifts of any size make a difference for students who are band members.
A major gift can establish an endowed fund, named for yourself or someone you wish to honor, to support the Marching Jayhawks in perpetuity. Contact our development director. Our goal is to provide the maximum number of scholarships possible to help grow the Marching Jayhawks. Scholarships currently are awarded in the following increments: $200 for a first-year student, increasing by $100 each year.
