Memorial Stadium
KU's Memorial Stadium, built through a universitywide fundraising drive begun in 1921, is home to football, the KU Relays, commencement and much more. Over the years, donors have helped KU make the stadium environs bigger and better.
From a historic Pawnee village
In 2008, KU continued its ongoing archeological research in Republic County, Kan., at the site of a late 18th- and early 19th-century village occupied by the Kitkahahki band of the Pawnee tribe. Private funds help support the work at the site. All photos courtesy of Mary Adair.
Crush Paralysis 2008
Crush Paralysis is an annual event to raise money for nerve regeneration
research in the Steve Palermo lab at the KU Medical Center. This year
the event was held on June 21, in downtown Kansas City.
May Donor Reception 2008
Once a year, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees hosts an
event to show appreciation for our donors. This year the event took place on May 28 at the
Topeka Country Club.
KU Commencement 2008 - May 18th, 2008
Far above the golden valley, it was glorious to view: A brilliant, bright, sunny day and thousands of proud graduates, friends and families gathering for KU's 136th Commencement ceremony.

Spooner Hall, then and now
Beloved Spooner Hall has served as a library, an art museum and an anthropology museum. In 2008, it begins a new life as home to the Commons, a state-of-the-art place for learning.
Big XII reception - March 14, 2008
On March 14th, KU’s first appearance in the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals drew enthusiastic fans to a reception at the Hilton President Hotel in Kansas City.
KU's Nature Reserves
KU’s nature reserves protect wildlife habitat, preserve remnants of native prairie and old-growth forest, and serve as a natural laboratory for research affecting our health and our world.
Chancellors Club weekend - Nov. 2-3, 2007
The 30th Annual Celebration of the Chancellors Club, KU’s premier giving society. The black-tie gala included the introduction of 16 new scholars and the presentation of faculty awards.
McColl Dedication - Sept. 29, 2007
KU officials dedicated the Suzanne Ecke McColl Nature Reserve Sept. 29.
The 160-acre site is the newest addition to KU's Field Station and
Ecological Reserves.
Danforth Chapel Rededication — On Sept. 22, 2007, Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway led a re-dedication ceremony to commemorate the Danforth renovation project, followed by an open house.
Danforth Chapel Renovation — Construction started in March 2007. The chapel was closed from July 9 to the completion of construction Sept. 7.
